Contact

Email me at support@rhystictracker.com. I read every message and can typically respond within a couple of days — though Rhystic is a solo project so it can sometimes take a little longer.

When reporting a bug, it helps to include your device model, OS version, app version, when it happened, steps to reproduce, and a screenshot or screen recording if possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

The basics

What is Rhystic?

Rhystic is a life counter and game tracker built for Magic: The Gathering's Commander format. It tracks life totals, commander damage, poison, and more for 2–5 players.

How many players does Rhystic support?

Two to five players on one device, with layouts for each player count.

What platforms is Rhystic on?

iOS and Android, plus a companion website at rhystictracker.com for accounts, decks, and stats.

At the table

How do I track commander damage in Rhystic?

Long-press your life total and the commander damage overlay appears. Drag over to the commander that's dealing the damage and you're in commander damage mode: life changes now count as commander damage from that commander too, and the mode turns itself off shortly after you stop. Every opponent's commander gets its own tally, including each half of a partner pairing.

Does Rhystic work offline?

Yes. You can start and finish a game with no account and no connection — life totals, commander damage, counters, dice, and turn tracking all live on the device. Card art needs a connection but no account. Decks, pods, and saved stats need both.

Can every player at the table read the screen right-side up?

Yes. Rhystic has seating layouts for the common 2–5 player setups, and each seat rotates to face the person sitting there.

What seating layouts does Rhystic have for 3, 4, and 5 players?

Three, four, and five player games each have a few layout options to match how people are actually sitting, and Rhystic remembers which one you picked for each player count.

What counters can Rhystic track?

Poison, energy, experience, rad, commander tax, mana by color, storm, lands, and two custom slots. Each seat chooses which ones to show.

Can Rhystic track the Monarch and the Initiative?

Yes, along with City's Blessing and day/night. Table-wide states stay on screen, marked on whoever currently holds them.

Does Rhystic track turns?

Yes. Rhystic follows the turn and round count, and can randomize turn order or let you pick who goes first. There's an optional turn timer too, as a stopwatch or countdown.

Commanders and decks

How do partner commanders work in Rhystic?

Partner with, Friends Forever, Choose a Background, Doctor's Companion, and the rest all work, with separate commander damage and tax for each commander. Partner mode turns on and off automatically based on the deck a player selects.

Can I use any card's art as my seat background?

Yes. Pick your commander by name, or search any card on Scryfall and use its art as your seat's background. No decklist needed.

How does Rhystic track commander tax?

Commander tax is one of the typed counters, tracked per commander. Each partner commander gets its own.

How do deck brackets work in Rhystic?

If a Commander deck has a bracket set, Rhystic saves that bracket with the game when it's recorded.

Games, pods and stats

How does Rhystic record how a game ended?

When someone's eliminated, or the game ends, Rhystic asks what happened: the win condition, how each elimination went down, and who gets credit for the kill.

What is a pod in Rhystic?

Your recurring playgroup, or really any group of players you want to track — the commander league at your local game store, for instance. When you're connected to a pod, finished games and playgroup history get recorded automatically.

Do all my friends need the app for game tracking?

No, only the player running the game needs it. Everyone else signs up on the web at rhystictracker.com, joins the pod, and adds their decks there. They'll then show up in the host's app, ready to be assigned to seats.

How does game history work?

Finished games, pods, and playgroup history are saved whenever you're connected to a pod. Connecting to a pod requires a Rhystic Premium subscription — your own, or one belonging to someone in your pod.

Does one Premium subscription cover my whole pod?

Yes. Games get recorded as long as the person hosting them has Premium; the Premium member is the one who signs in on the device tracking the games. Everyone else can play on free accounts and still get their history and stats.

Can Rhystic roll dice?

Yes — coin flips plus d4 through d20, up to five dice at a time, all on-device with no connection needed. There's a turn-order randomizer built in too.

Practical

Does Rhystic show card prices or track my collection?

No. Rhystic is a table companion, not a card database — no card prices, no collection tracking, no camera scanning, no public deck database.

Is Rhystic an official Wizards of the Coast app?

No. Magic: The Gathering is a trademark of Wizards of the Coast; Rhystic is unofficial Fan Content, not produced or endorsed by Wizards. It's also not connected to the card Rhystic Study, the Rhystic Studies YouTube channel, or any other similarly named app.

Does Rhystic have ads?

No. There are no ads anywhere in Rhystic, free tier included.

Account and pricing

Is Rhystic free?

Yup! Core life tracking in Rhystic's mobile app is completely free of charge and ad-free. Rhystic Premium adds connected features like automatic game history and stats tracking with minimal setup.

What is an Early Founder?

The first 100 users to activate Rhystic Premium receive lifetime access for free — no payment required, ever. Once all 100 Early Founder slots are claimed, the offer is gone for good.

After that, the next 500 users can lock in the Founder tier at $1/month or $9.99/year — a significant discount over standard pricing. Once Founder slots fill, Premium moves to its standard price (currently $2.99/month or $24.99/year, subject to change). Early Founder and Founder tiers are permanent — even if you cancel and come back later, you'll keep your original pricing.

Do I need an account to use the app?

Nope. You can use all free features without creating an account. An account lets you take advantage of connected features like quick game setup, deck selection, and game history — whether through your own Premium subscription or a pod where another member has Premium.

Can I suggest a feature?

Absolutely. Send feature requests to support@rhystictracker.com. Rhystic is actively developed and shaped by player feedback.

How do I delete my account?

You can request account deletion from your dashboard settings. See our account deletion page for full details on the process and what happens to your data.
